I do a lot of canning and baking and was excited to see a kitchen scale that weighs up to 15 lbs, I thought this would be very helpful. I use this scale quite often, and while I don't hate it, I don't love it either.Pros: scale's "footprint" is very small. I can slide it upright next to my cutting boards and it takes up much less storage space than my old kitchen scale did. Weighs up to 15 lbs in a variety of different weight settings (lbs and oz, oz, g, fl. oz, ml) lots of pretty colors to choose from hold feature is nice if you weigh something too large for you to see the displayCons: very hard to find the "hold" button if you are weighing something too large to see the display. I would gladly have a thicker scale if it meant they could offset the display so it wasn't right under the items being weighed. Scale is insanely sensitive - you can't turn it on while you are moving it, or it won't register the right weight, you can't have *anything* close to it, if it is toughing the edge, it won't register the right weight, etc. Buttons are also insanely sensitive - I cannot tell you how many times I have tried to weigh apples, tomatoes, peaches, peppers, etc, and had one roll near the buttons and the scale turns itself off, changes weights, etc. Then you have to remove everything and restart. This can happen even when trying to balance the items on a bowl or plate. It is very frustrating. Scale is not easy to clean. A kitchen scale should be easy to clean. It will almost certainly get messy at some point in its existence.11/20/2018 UpdateWe've now owned this scale for over five years and haven't experienced a single issue with it. It has been an excellent addition to our kitchen, and I would definitely look to this company if I ever need a replacement.------------------------------------------------My wife and I bought this kitchen scale a few months ago for our new apartment. We were initially worried about how the color would turn out, since many products like this have the tendency to look much different online than in-person. However, we were happy to see that the scale looked just great when it arrived. It accents our kitchen very nicely.The scale itself is plenty accurate. We use it many times a week and haven't had any problems to date.One feature that I especially enjoy is the buttons on the scale. They're touch-sensitive, which only adds to the sleek design of this item. As my neighbor eloquently put it, "That's a sexy scale."I really like this. The only things that I would make a little better is that the tare function is reeeeeeeeallly sensitive. If you are zeroing out as you add ingredients, you have to tap it several times in order for it to finally register zero. And you have to tap super lightly. also it's a little hard to read the numbers if your item is really big. But I know this is the one Alton Brown uses at home, and I've seen this model used on Iron Chef. So I'm not really complaining that much.I purchased this in 2013 but forgot where I put it after I moved, and then rediscovered it 2 years ago and have LOVED using it. It is so simple to switch between the units. Which I do often, because I measure some things in ounces or grams. Would buy again (but hopefully won't have to)!Imhad an old scale,that wasn't working and I needed a new one that did. I was hesitant about this one because it's totally smooth and little. My old scale was so old it was big! So I decided that since I was going to buy one - I'd go for fun. Th e purple one is eggplant color and I love having it. The best part is the taste feature. I used to have to weigh the bowl and then subtract the weight. This one adjusts for it at the touch of a button. Goes to .1 grams...this scale is great; first of all - it is absolutely beautiful, the screen is very big and clear, it has all the functions that you expect from a scale (several units to choose from, reset) as well as a great "hold" function (that allows you to measure big items that block the screen when they are on the scale).it seems a bit fragile though, and the buttons are *very* sensitive to the touch - it should be used with extreme care.all in all - great purchase.It looks great, has wonderful features. What I miss from my old kitchen scale was I could program certain foods in and it would give all the info. But if you don't need that, this is perfect. I love the look of it, very sleekLove the new scale - especially the fact that I can use any kind of container and have it 'zero' out the weight of the container so I can get accurate weights for the product. And being flat and slim, I can store it on top of my microwave and it's out of the way - takes up LOTS less space than my old scale !! And of course, being able to get it in my favorite color (PURPLE!!) just took it over the top !I love the color. The scale is easy to operate and appears to be accurate.
